It started in Bristol in 2010.

Not in a boardroom or a business school - but at university, raising much-needed funds for sports teams that couldn't afford to stand still.

​

What started as individual club fundraisers quickly grew into something bigger. As VP of Sports, Chris organised the Varsity Sports Series and coordinated fundraising across the entire university sports landscape - learning fast that the difference between an event people show up for and one they actually talk about comes down to one thing: originality.

​

In 2013, Chris moved to London and joined a grassroots sports club - taking on the role of social secretary and the challenge of creating monthly and twice-monthly events to keep the club funded and the community tight. Two events a month. Every month. For years. You learn a lot about what works.

​

By 2019 the club had secured corporate funding - but the events didn't stop. They grew. More people, bigger ambitions, higher expectations.

​

Then 2021. Coming out of the pandemic, the need for unity had never been greater. Teams were dispersed, screen time was at an all-time high, and the pub wasn't cutting it as a way to build real culture. People needed to get outside, get moving and actually connect again.

​

That's where The Greatest Race came from. An event format Chris had been developing for years - part race, part challenge, part live finale - inspired by the challenge-based reality TV he's always loved. Think The Amazing Race, The Challenge, Survivor. Formats where the event itself creates the connection, not just the free bar at the end.

​

From there, Get Together Events was born. Interactive quizzes. Landmark celebration events. Virtual team building for dispersed teams. A growing portfolio built on 100+ events and 15 years of learning what actually brings people together.

​

One thing has stayed the same throughout: the belief that everyone has a superpower, and the best events are the ones that bring those superpowers out. The competitive ones. The creative ones. The quiet ones who surprise everyone. The ones who said they weren't bothered but end up winning the whole thing.

​

With AI taking over and screen time at an all-time high, we believe great events are more important than ever. Not just as a box to tick - but as the thing that reminds your team why they actually like each other.
